Siteslingers builds websites for small businesses across the UK. This policy explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
Who we are
Siteslingers is the controller of the personal information described here. We work fully remote. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@siteslingers.com.
What we collect
When you fill in our Get your site form, we collect:
- Your name, business name, email address and phone number
- How you would like us to contact you
- What your business does, where you work and any links you share
- Colours and websites you like, your goals, the Care Plan you are interested in and any notes
If you email us, including sending a logo or photos, we keep that email and its attachments. We also keep basic technical records, such as the time a form was sent, to protect the service from spam and abuse.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare your homepage preview
- To build, host and look after your website if you become a client
- To send invoices and keep the records the law requires
We will only use your details to reply to you and deliver the work you ask for. We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing without your permission.
Our lawful basis
We use your information to take steps at your request before entering a contract, to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations such as keeping financial records, and for our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business.
How long we keep it
If you do not become a client, we delete enquiry details within 24 months of our last contact. If you do, we keep your information for as long as you are a client, then for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting records.
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers to host this website and our systems, and to handle email. They only process your information on our instructions. We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
Cookies and storage
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. While you fill in the form, your answers are kept in your own browser for that session so nothing is lost if you go back a step. It clears when you close the tab or send the form.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@siteslingers.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date shown on it.
